If you’ve taken the PTE Academic test, you’re already aware that it’s based on the Global Scale of English and that you’ll need to practise a variety of abilities for each section: Speaking & Writing, Reading, and Listening.

You will receive an email notification when your PTE Academic results are available online after you have completed the test. Within 5 days, on average.

What is the significance of my Score Report?

When you get your Score Report, it will show you your overall score, which is based on how well you did on all of the test items. Listening, reading, speaking, and writing are the four skills that are assessed.

Grammar

At the sentence level, proper use of language in terms of word form and word order.

Oral Fluency

Speech delivery that is smooth, fluid, and at a natural pace.

Pronunciation

Production of speech sounds in a way that most native speakers of the language can understand. Regional or national varieties of English pronunciation are regarded accurate if they are easily understood by the majority of native English speakers.

Spelling

Words are written according to the language’s spelling norms. Although all national variations are acceptable, one spelling convention should be followed consistently throughout a response.

Vocabulary

Appropriate word choice and lexical range for expressing meaning.

How do I identify my areas of weakness?

From the visual graph on your Score Report, you will be able to see areas you need to improve on. You should aim to develop your core (enabling) skills required across all areas of the test.
